In an effort to give back to the community, a few members of the Marketing team here at PrecisionLender ventured out to the Ronald McDonald House in Durham to spend the morning cleaning the house for its patrons on Saturday, October 24th. The Ronald McDonald House organization takes in families who have a child (or children) with cancer to provide them a safe haven with love, support, food, and all of the necessities that are sometimes difficult to come by when a loved one has cancer.
With cleaning gear in tow, we were directed by those working at the Ronald McDonald House to split into two teams – one to clean the family and laundry rooms and the other to clean the kitchen and dining rooms. Thus, the competition was on. Team 1 (Taylor Magargal, Maria) tackled the kitchen in a meticulous manner, scraping up every little piece of food and shining each fork and spoon. Team 2 (Phil Buckley, Iris Maslow) were, well let’s just say, the fun group. Laughter was heard as they powered through their tasks and took lots of pictures.
We were there for about an hour and a half and what an impactful time it was. While we didn’t get the opportunity to meet many of the house patrons, the positive energy surged throughout the house, and it felt great to give back to such a meaningful cause.
